Just be true to who you are.

Hi,

It’s come to the time of year where we reflect on the year that has passed, unfortunately there have been terrible times for me this year. My sister went to Sicily for 5 months and I missed her like crazy, I got shit grades on my AS Levels in Media Studies, English Language and General Studies. I’ve recently found out that I have Severe Depression and Moderately Severe Anxiety. Lost a few friends along the way.

But there are so many positives that have come. My sister surprised me by coming back from Sicily early which was the best birthday present I could have ever had. Made new friends, got myself together (partially. *winking face*). Made the music that I wanted to and being able to perform in front of an audience without getting so socially anxious that i couldn’t perform.

I wouldn’t have been able to do all these good things if it weren’t for my friends and family getting me through all the hard times.

This time last year, it was the first Christmas without my Nan. I was still in shock that she had gone. Me and my Nan had such a close bond and it had hit me so hard like I was in a car crash. I never really pictured my life without her. She was always there for me when I had a problem at school or with friends, she would always be there to help me. I never thought I could miss someone so much.  It’s been a hard year, but with my Nan’s absence, I think I’ve grown stronger as a person. And this Christmas, I will reflect on all of the good things and experiences I’ve had this year.
